The Karkonosze Mountains are considered by many tourists to be the most beautiful mountains in Poland, which can be visited repeatedly to discover something completely new each time. The beauty of the landscapes, easily accessible peaks, waterfalls, and cirques continually amaze during hikes.
Karpacz classics - the most frequently chosen hiking trails:
- Red trail to Śnieżka, route length: 7.7 km, time: 3 h 30 min
One of the most popular routes to Śnieżka, the trail is rather calm and very scenic. You can also reach Śnieżka from Karpacz via the black trail (the most difficult one) and the yellow trail. The trail starts from the Karpacz Biały Jar parking lot.
Black trail to the Biały Jar Cirque, route length: 4.1 km, time: 2 h
It starts from the Karpacz Biały Jar parking lot. The route is very scenic and runs along the Złoty Potok stream. Picturesque views of valleys and magnificent Karkonosze peaks. The hike can be continued towards Śnieżka or you can return to Karpacz via the yellow trail, heading to the Strzecha Akademicka Shelter.
Blue trail to the Shelter at the Okraj Pass, route length: 17.5 km, time: 6 h
A high-difficulty trail for experienced hikers; due to the length of the route, it is best to start early in the morning. The trail offers the opportunity to admire some of the most beautiful views in the Karkonosze, passing near the Small and Great Ponds.
Blue trail from the Wang Temple to Śnieżka, route length: 9.7 km, time: 4 h
Another Karkonosze classic and one of the most frequently chosen trails. It begins at the Wang Temple, and during the hike, you can visit the Samotnia and Strzecha Akademicka Shelters. The trail runs over a quite flattened plain covered with tundra.
